Raith_GDSII v. 1.2 released


The nanoFAB is pleased to announce the release of the free, open-source Raith_GDSII MATLAB toolbox (v. 1.2): a simple, versatile, and scriptable means of generating patterns for Raith electron-beam lithography using MATLAB.

New FESEM introduced to chemistry graduate students


Last week, Peng Li introduced the latest developments in nanoFAB’s electron microscopy capabilities to a U of A graduate chemistry class.  The newly installed Zeiss SIGMA FESEM was discussed in great detail, from column optics to application examples.  Following the presentation, Peng gave a brief demo on the microscope.  

Closure of CEIN domain – Effective November 1, 2014


The IT Support staff at the nanoFAB will be affecting a shutdown of all services that operate under the CEIN domain (cein.ualberta.ca). As of November 1, 2014 access to the following services will no longer be available:

Labour Day (September 1, 2014)


The nanoFAB will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2014 in celebration of the Labour Day.  As always, during this time access will fall under our after hours policy.

Victoria Day Holiday Closure – May 19, 2014


During Victoria Day, Monday May 19/14, the nanoFAB will operate under our after hours use policy. The nanoFAB will return to normal hours on Tuesday, May 20/14.

EBL Training


Our next session of EBL training will be offered from May 20th to 23rd.  You must be a registered user of our facilities, and have an approved process flow document in order to be eligible.  If interested, please email Stephanie Bozic for more information.

Holiday Closure Friday April 18, 2014 & Monday April 21, 2014


The nanoFAB will be closed on Friday April 18, 2014 and Monday April 21, 2014 for Good Friday and Easter Monday.  Access will fall under our normal after hours access policy.  We will return to normal hours on Tuesday morning.
