Structure Zone Model

As part of the nanoFAB Toolbox, we have added a structure zone model calculator to predict the microstructure of sputtered films. Play around with the settings and see what types of structures you are getting with your recipes. Read more and try out the tool. 


Spin Milling with Plasma FIB

Spin milling is now available on the new Therm Fisher Helios Hydra Plasma FIB/SEM, for up to 1 mm large-area planar milling with ion beams. View our example polishing data of rail steel and 3d printed alumina for EBSD analysis.   Read and see more


New PECVD Available

The new Plasma-Therm Versaline Plasma-Enhanced Chemical Vapour Deposition (PECVD) system is fully commissioned and available for training. Review the tool features and characteristic film properties for deposited a-Si, Si nitride and Si oxide prepared from our standard recipes. Read and see more


New nanoFAB Staff

The nanoFAB would like to introduce Dr. Xuehai (Mike) Tan as our newest Application/Research Specialist with a focus on material characterization. Dr. Tan will be working with the X-ray Microscopy, TEM, XRD and Raman tools.

Funding Opportunities

As an academic researcher utilizing the nanoFAB, you can reduce your research costs by applying for the CMC Microsystems MNT Awards. Successful applicants receive 80% of eligible nanoFAB costs.
Applications are accepted monthly. 
NSERC Alliance Grant holders are eligible automatically.
