Spectroscopy Demo: Open Platform System

The nanoFAB invites you to attend a public seminar and demonstration by Wilson Analytical for their spectroscopy Open Platform System. The presentation by Dr. Ken Schmidt will provide an overview of the system and its capabilities. A general question-and-answer period will immediately follow the presentation. After the presentation, the tool will be available for hands-on demos of individual samples.

Title: “Modular, Low Cost Spectroscopy through an Open Platform System”
Date: Wednesday, November 13, 2019
Time: 9:30am – 10:00am
Location: ETLC E1-018

Abstract:  The OPS features an optical plate that ensures easy mounting of light sources ranging from UV to NIR, liquid or solid sample holders and diverse spectrometers. Fluorescence, absorbance, transmission or reflectance measurements are possible with minor adjustments. Wilson’s Open Platform System (OPS) allows for easy measurements of solids at a reasonable price. The system can be used to measure the surface-reflection fluorescence of leaves, surface coatings, powders, pellets, opaque liquids, or slurries.

Hands-on demonstrations or running of individual samples can be arranged after the talk, or in advance by emailing Jaclyn Repchuk <jaclyn@wilsonanalytical.com>. Please describe your sample in the email.
